Pregnancy and motherhood can take a major toll on a woman’s body, which is why many women are turning to plastic surgeons to help them restore their post-baby bodies and boost their confidence. Women opt for mommy makeover packages for a number of different reasons. Individual their trouble areas dictate which cosmetic surgery procedures are included in their makeovers. Although the ultimate goal of any mommy makeover is to make you feel better about yourself, here are three post-pregnancy body woes a mommy makeover may be able to cure:
1.Sagging Breasts
Breast size may increase during pregnancy, but breast feeding can leave your breasts sagging and smaller than they were before you had your baby. Dr Geoghegan can perform breast augmentation and/or a breast lift during your mommy makeover to help restore the volume and position.
2. Excess Abdominal Skin
Sometimes, diet and exercise aren’t enough to tackle the excess abdominal skin many women deal with after they lose their baby weight. Plastic surgery can remove that skin during a tummy tuck procedure, which will leave you with a flatter stomach and usually a linear scar below your bikini line.
3. Stubborn Areas of Fat
Like excess skin, many women find that they have areas of fat on the stomachs, hips, legs, and arms after they are pregnant that just won’t go away no matter how hard they workout in the gym. With liposuction, we can remove those stubborn fat deposits for good.

Many individuals strive for a flat, taut stomach by exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet. However, sometimes excess deposits of fat and loose skin around the abdominal area won’t budge, regardless of an individual’s lifestyle choices. A tummy tuck, or an abdominoplasty, can help put the finishing touches on your stomach when diet and exercise fail to provide the results you desire.
Procedure
During the procedure, you will receive anesthesia by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist to keep you comfortable. The incision runs horizontally along the bikini line and around your navel. Dr. Geoghegan will tighten weak or separated abdominal muscles through the incision and then stretch down excess skin. Your navel will be brought through the skin, and excess skin will be removed. Finally, the remaining skin will be sutured together.
Recovery
Dr. Geoghegan will apply bandages and a compression garment after your tummy tuck to ensure that your incision heals properly. For the first several days, you can expect to feel tired and sore from your tummy tuck. She will provide you with specific directions for pain medication, bandage removal, and drain tube removal. You should plan to take some time off from work for your tummy tuck recovery.
Results
A tummy tuck can help fix what diet and exercise have not been able to remedy. Loose skin and stubborn deposits of fat around your middle will be smoothed, flattened, and eliminated by abdominoplasty. In addition, tightened abdominal muscles will offer you a firm, toned stomach. The scar from a tummy tuck will fade over time and is easily covered by a bathing suit.
